Travels With Susan

This was to be our last Mitford Tea in honor of our dear friend Andrea Blensley who passed away from pancreatic cancer shortly after the tea. It was wonderful, sad and beautiful all at the same time.

Not just Christmas, but a Cathy and Vince's wedding and a trip to Disneyland

Susan (behind the camera), Mike, Indrani and Ravi-- the world's most wonderful boy-- went to the L. A. County Fair and ate a lot of unhealthy fried food, walked, saw animals and rode on the rides.

We gathered at Cath's house to celebrate Coralie's 82 on Sept. 3 a week before the real event.

For my 63rd birthday, my wish was to take my grandson to a place I enjoyed as a child-- Griffith Park in Los Angeles. We rode the train and the merry go round and Ravi rode a pony. Then lunch with Andrea and Doug at Tongdong Tai Kitchen in San Marino, followed by the Devil Wears Prada and creampuffs at Beard Papa. It would be hard to plan a better day.

For the 9th year in a row, we had a delightful and beautiful tea. Here are pictures from the tea.

We went to India Palace restaurant on Topanga Canyon in Calabasas?, Northridge? Tarzana? I don't know-- they all run together out there. Anyway, we had Indian Food and congratulated Mike on making it through another year with his beautiful wife and their most beautiful baby in the world, who really likes gulab jaman and knows how to ask for water in Bengali

Ravi had two parties this year. On his real birthday Mom, Dad, Sara and Grandma Susan took him to Chucky Cheese where he explored all the stuff. On the weekend, we gathered in Valencia to celebrate the birth of the cutest baby in the world. A good time was had by all.

Susan, Sara, Indrani, Mike and darling Ravi celebrated Christmas early by visiting Disneyland

Coralie, Indrani and Jonathan had birthdays, Cath and Vince became formally engaged, Ravi got a whole lot cuter (as if that were possible), My new dog George arrived and Halloween came.

Amanda Stringer, whose real birthday is on July 31, had a birthday party at Bucca di Beppo in Claremont and here are the pictures. This whole raggedy band was seated at one very long table when they moved us all to another very long table. Finally we ate, the food was good and a good time was had by all.
