Travels With Susan

Thornhill Broome State Beach is about 10 miles north of Malibu on Highway 1. Getting there from L. A. involves the distinct pleasure of pulling a trailer through Malibu while looking at the homes of the impossibly rich, and knowing, in your crafty little heart, that you will soon have the same view they have for only $13.00 per night.

March 3-5 at Lake Cachuma, some of us Chalet Owners (all Aframers were invited but all who showed up had Chalets) met up, looked at each others modifications, drank each other's wine, ate each other's food and played with each other's dogs. A good time was had by all. Pictures of Lake Cachuma are in the general Travel Pix. These are pix of people some Aframers have known for a long time on the web.

My trip to Mammoth taught me the folly of what I did in Idyllwild-- which was damage my batteries. After much distress and several calls to Triple A, the final judgment was three new batteries-- two for the Chalet and one for the SUV. All in all the bill for the batteries seemed small next to the costs of being stranded. Lesson learned. Also I figured out how to use Lynx Levelers.
